As temperatures continue to rise, nothing screams summer like a little fun in the sun and feet in the sand.

　Female volleyball players from all over the world are on the Han River to spike, dive and serve.

　

　The 2011 International Federation of Volleyball’s Beach Volleyball Seoul Challenger got the ball serving at the Jamsil Hangang Park on Thursday.

　64 women from 18 different countries are vying for a chance at the prize pool of 50,000 dollars.

　Players to watch this year are Karla Borger and Britta Buthe of Germany.

　　Others include Erika and Simona Fabjan from Slovenia, who are not only recognized for their skills but also their beauty.

　Japan’s Asao Miwa and Matsuyama Hiroko are also taking part in the tournament, although they are better known for their modeling career.

　Also kicking up the sand are members of Korea’s national team Lee Eun-a and Ryu Eun-hye.

　For those that cannot enjoy the game under the sun, matches will be help till 9 pm on Friday and Saturday.

　　The finals are Sunday at 2 p.m.
