NCT member Ten directly denied online dating rumors during a stop on a US solo tour.
On Wednesday (local time), Ten addressed the speculation at a performance of the "TEN US Showcase Tour" at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, Texas. "I know there's been some weird stuff going around on the internet lately. I want to make it clear in front of you all today," Ten said. "I am super duper single. I am not dating anyone right now." Ten said the rumors had been passed along by staff members.
"If I were dating someone, they'd have to be Superman," Ten added. "You know how busy my schedule is. I'm still just working."
Rumors had recently spread on social media claiming Ten was in a relationship with a non-celebrity woman. Rather than issuing an official statement through the agency, Ten chose to address the speculation directly in front of fans.
The tour marks Ten's first solo performances in the United States in a 10-year career. It kicked off in Seattle on Oct. 17 and travels through Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore and Boston before wrapping up in New York on Nov. 10. At the opening show in Seattle, Ten also unveiled an unreleased track, "Can I Be Honest."
Ten, who is from Thailand, debuted with NCT in April 2016 and has been active in NCT U and WayV. In April, Ten parted ways with SM Entertainment and established a one-person management company, Illument. At the time, SM said it would "work to coordinate Ten's continued participation in WayV and NCT group activities."
In September, Ten released "OUTWEST," the first single since going independent.
