NewJeans continues to draw strong streaming numbers despite an extended hiatus, with the group now boasting three songs that have surpassed 900 million plays on Spotify.

According to agency Ador and Spotify, "Super Shy" — one of three title tracks from the group's second EP "Get Up" — had accumulated 900.04 million streams as of Friday. It is the third NewJeans song to cross the 900 million mark on the platform, following "OMG" and "Ditto."

"Super Shy," built on a jersey club rhythm and a bouncy, upbeat sound, drew an enthusiastic global response from the moment of its release. The track spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and nine weeks on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, demonstrating sustained commercial appeal. It also broke into the top 10 on Spotify's Global and US Daily Top Songs charts.

The song has earned wide critical acclaim as well. It was the only K-pop track to appear on Pitchfork's list of the 100 best songs of the 2020s. The outlet praised it as "NewJeans at their most effortless," calling its "light, breezy hook" a standout quality. Billboard, Rolling Stone, The Guardian and NME also named it one of the best songs of 2023.

Including this latest milestone, NewJeans' entire Spotify catalog has now surpassed 8 billion cumulative streams. "Ditto," "OMG" and "Super Shy" have each cleared 900 million plays, while "Hype Boy" has topped 700 million, "New Jeans" and "Attention" have each exceeded 500 million, and "ETA" has passed 400 million — a testament to the group's enduring streaming power across its discography.

NewJeans debuted in 2022 and won broad popularity with an easy-listening, Y2K-influenced sound evoking the nostalgia of the 1990s and early 2000s, setting the group apart from the performance- and lore-driven approach typical of K-pop acts. The group has been navigating turbulence since April 2024, when a dispute erupted between Hybe and Min Hee-jin, the former chief executive of Ador. Four of the five members have since returned to Ador, with Danielle the exception. The group has been on hiatus for roughly two years, though the members were recently spotted preparing new music.
