Highs of 26–32 C expected Saturday
Sunday to see 25–31 C
Temperatures across South Korea are expected to climb to around 30 degrees Celsius this weekend, with strong ultraviolet rays and elevated ozone levels posing risks for those heading outdoors.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Saturday will see morning lows of 13–19 C and afternoon highs of 26–32 C. Sunday's morning lows are forecast at 14–20 C, with highs of 25–31 C.
Forecast temperature ranges for major cities are: Seoul 17–31 C, Incheon 17–29 C, Daejeon 15–31 C, Gwangju 17–30 C, Daegu 17–32 C, Ulsan 17–29 C and Busan 19–27 C.
UV index levels are expected to reach "high" to "very high" across most of the country on both days. Ozone concentrations will hit "poor" levels on Saturday nationwide except Jeju, and on Sunday in the Greater Seoul area, inland Gangwon Province, North and South Chungcheong, the Honam region, North Gyeongsang Province and South Gyeongsang Province.
Scattered showers of 5–20 millimeters are forecast for inland areas of South Jeolla Province on Saturday afternoon through evening. On Sunday afternoon through evening, 5–30 millimeters are expected across central regions, North Jeolla Province, the northern part of South Jeolla Province and the western inland areas of Gyeongsang Province. Hail is also possible in some areas Sunday as atmospheric instability increases.
