Yuhan-Kimberly has unveiled a new line of cleaning wet wipes featuring the popular Smurf characters.
The company announced Monday the launch of three Smurf Edition varieties of its Scart multipurpose wet wipes.
The new products were developed following double-digit sales growth recorded by earlier Scart cleaning products released in collaboration with the Smurf brand. The line applies the familiar Smurf characters to the product design, adding a playful element to everyday cleaning supplies.
The Scart multipurpose wet wipes are designed to clean a wide range of surfaces in daily living spaces, including dining tables, kitchens, electronics, bathrooms and vehicle interiors. They feature cleansing and deodorizing functions and a lemon scent.
The wipes use a 60-gsm diamond-embossed spunlace fabric for added durability. They are free of 11 chemical preservatives and 26 allergy-triggering substances, and are made with purified water processed through an 11-stage filtration system. The product has also completed skin irritation testing by Germany's Dermatest.
The wipes come in a canister — a cylindrical container — that allows users to pull out one sheet at a time as needed. The format is designed for convenient placement in frequently used spaces such as the kitchen, living room or car.
The household goods industry has seen a growing trend of brands differentiating their products through character collaborations, as design and consumer experience have gained recognition alongside function and price as key purchasing factors. The strategy aims to build brand affinity by applying characters familiar to consumers while adding fresh incentives to buy existing product lines.
"Since cleaning is a daily routine, we wanted to offer a product experience that makes it easier and more enjoyable — and that is what led us to introduce this Smurf Edition," a Yuhan-Kimberly official in charge of the Scart cleaning line said. "We will continue to bring out a variety of products that add small moments of joy to consumers' everyday lives."
