The Georgia Gazette published the arrest record Thursday (local time)
Online commenters expressed admiration, offered to pay her bail
The mugshot of a young Korean woman arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in the United States has gone viral online.
Struck by her appearance, some users left comments such as "Say kimchi" and "I'll pay her bail."
The Georgia Gazette, a Georgia-based website that publishes arrest records, released the mugshot and arrest details of a woman surnamed Kim on Thursday (local time).
According to the records, Kim was booked into the Hall County jail in Georgia on Sunday. She faces four charges, including driving under the influence, speeding, driving with an expired license plate, improper lane change and failure to signal.
Under Georgia law, a first-time DUI offender can face a fine of $300 to $1,000 and a jail term of 10 days to 12 months. Anyone with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher is required to be held for a minimum of 24 hours.
After Kim's mugshot was shared on a local Facebook page that posts arrest news, commenters reacted enthusiastically.
In the photo, Kim faces the camera directly with her long hair down, wearing a slight smile.
One commenter wrote that he had money to pay her bail, prompting others to chime in. "Me too," wrote one. "What if the three of us split the bail?" suggested another. Others offered to serve as her bail bondsman or said they wanted to "rescue" her.
Another user wrote "Say kimchi" — a reference to the Korean custom of saying the word to prompt a smile in photos, much as English speakers say "cheese."
