KMI Korean Medical Institute announced Monday that it ran a joint public health campaign with the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee at the 107th National Sports Festival to promote lifelong health among citizens.

KMI set up a promotional booth at the plaza of Jeju World Cup Stadium, informing athletes, local residents and spectators of the importance of regular exercise and periodic health checkups. The booth was designed to connect public interest in sports with everyday health management, conveying KMI's vision of moving "beyond health screenings toward health management."

The booth offered interactive content and health-themed true-or-false quizzes to make participation easy for families and local residents. Activities featuring KMI's official character "Keumi" and the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee's official character "Dalli" drew visitors in, while the quizzes helped raise awareness about health management.

The booth also screened a joint campaign video titled "My Neighborhood Is My Gym" and held a social media follow event using QR codes linking to both organizations' official accounts. Participants received prizes. A dedicated space inside the booth introduced KMI's Jeju center and highlighted the importance of monitoring one's health through regular checkups and maintaining consistent care afterward. The booth also promoted the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee's "Sports 7330" campaign, which encourages people to exercise at least three times a week for 30 minutes a day.

KMI and the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee signed an MOU in July last year to jointly promote recreational sports, then extended the agreement by two years this past July. The two organizations are expanding their joint campaigns and strengthening related promotional activities aimed at improving lifelong public health.

"Regular exercise and periodic health checkups are essential practices for maintaining health in daily life," said Lee Gwang-bae, chairman of KMI. "KMI will work to spread a culture that goes beyond health screenings toward ongoing health management, and fulfill its role as a lifelong health management partner that is part of people's everyday lives."

KMI Korean Medical Institute, founded in 1985, operates eight health screening centers nationwide — three in Seoul (Gwanghwamun, Yeouido and Gangnam) and one each in Suwon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju and Jeju. The institute also carries out activities and social contribution projects aimed at early disease detection, prevention and the promotion of public health.
