Japan's Amazon Prime Video to release 'Love Transit 35+' next month

Brazil remake confirmed, underscoring K-content's growing reach

CJ ENM's dating reality show "Love Transit" is set to be remade in Brazil, following an earlier adaptation in Japan — extending the so-called K-format's reach from Asia to South America.

According to CJ ENM on Wednesday, the Japanese remake will return next month with a new series titled "Love Transit 35+." The season marks a first for the franchise: all participants are 35 or older, and the cast includes divorced former spouses.

The new season was conceived in line with shifting attitudes toward marriage in Japan. Ten adult men and women who have navigated major life turning points — including marriage, divorce, family and career — will take part, with the show aiming to capture deeper, more realistic moments of choice.

A Brazilian remake has also been confirmed. The Brazilian version of "Love Transit" will be directed by prominent TV director Boninho and co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Formata, marking another sign of K-content's rising popularity in the country.

According to the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil's "Brazil Cultural Trends Report for July," K-dramas accounted for 28 percent of Korean culture coverage in major local media — second only to K-pop — reflecting sustained interest in Korean content.

Kim Do-hyun, head of CJ ENM's content distribution division, said "'Love Transit' has established itself as a global hit format by effectively blending the strong emotional resonance of the original with the culture and sensibility of each region." He added that the launch of "Love Transit 35+" in Japan and the confirmation of the Brazilian remake "demonstrate that K-entertainment is expanding its influence across languages and borders to lead global trends."

Meanwhile, CJ ENM is broadening its content distribution network into key markets including India, backed by a global strategic partnership with Amazon Prime Video.

Through Amazon MX Player, CJ ENM has been releasing six Thai drama series produced by its local joint venture True CJ Creations since July. The company has also signed a strategic partnership with Amazon Prime Video India for the supply of K-content, with plans to roll out about 100 titles — including 26 new productions — over the next two years.
