Total streaming numbers for BigBang's catalog surged 333 percent compared to the previous month.

The kings of K-pop are back. Marking their 20th debut anniversary, BigBang has been setting remarkable records since their comeback.

According to Data Lab, a music big data analytics service on domestic streaming platform Melon, BigBang's return has not only driven their new material up the charts but also sparked a reverse-charting surge for hit songs released more than two decades ago, demonstrating the group's enduring power.

The catalyst was the release of new single "BiiiG" on Aug. 19 and the group's full-lineup offline concert. "BiiiG," co-written and composed by G-Dragon, swept to No. 1 on Melon's Top 100 and daily charts upon release.

The world tour stop "XX: Cosmos in Goyang," held in Goyang from Sept. 21 to Sept. 23, then fanned the flames of the reverse-charting surge for the group's classic tracks.

The steepest climb among individual songs belongs to "Haru Haru," released in 2008. The track averaged No. 224 on the daily chart in July before rebounding sharply from the 20th, the day before the concert, then rocketing to No. 67 by the 24th. Streaming counts rose 298 percent compared to the July average. "Spring Summer Fall Winter," released in 2022, climbed to No. 86 on the 24th, while 2007 track "Lies" rose to No. 90, with both songs sweeping the charts.

The momentum extended well beyond Korea into global metrics. BigBang claimed the top spot on the Global K-Chart — operated jointly by Melon, Tencent Music and Line Music — for two consecutive weeks in the third and fourth weeks of August, demonstrating wide interest across Asia.

Tallying all tracks, BigBang achieved an unprecedented total streaming increase of 333 percent, according to Melon.
