The Institute of Planning and Evaluation for Technology in Food, Agriculture and Forestry has designated three new innovative products in the agri-food sector, opening a path for them to enter the public procurement market and secure early sales channels.

The institute, known by its Korean acronym IPET, announced Monday that it had newly designated three products as innovative for the first half of this year. Innovative products are those recognized for their public value and technological novelty; once listed on the government's innovation marketplace, public institutions can purchase them through negotiated contracts. The products are also eligible to participate in the Public Procurement Service's pilot innovative product purchase program.

IPET has served as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' innovative product evaluation body since 2021, assessing and designating products that incorporate research and development outcomes or technologies certified under the ministry's agri-food new technology certification scheme. Including this round, it now manages 55 designated innovative products.

The three newly designated products are: Gint's unmanned autonomous sprayer using AI vision-fusion technology for orchards and rain-shelter houses (GT-SS500); Witech's solar power generation device incorporating DC system insulation monitoring technology to prevent electric shock and electrical fires in agricultural and residential environments; and Camprun's integrated washing and drying device designed to strengthen hygiene for workers in the agri-food sector.

The autonomous sprayer uses AI vision and precision positioning technology to carry out stable, driverless pest-control operations in orchards and rain-shelter houses. The solar power device monitors leakage current and ground faults in real time to prevent electric shock and electrical fires. The washing and drying device applies electrolysis technology to generate cleaning water without chemical additives, performing hand washing and drying in a single step.

"We will support innovative agri-food technologies in securing early sales channels through the public procurement market, leading to improvements in public services that people can feel in their daily lives," IPET President Park Hong-jae said.
