Small amount of smoke came from a battery pack in a passenger's pocket
About 200 passengers evacuated a Seoul subway train on Line 1 after smoke was detected aboard a stopped train at Guro Station on Friday at around 5:24 p.m.
A small amount of smoke came from a portable battery pack in a passenger's pocket inside car No. 4 of a train bound for Dongducheon from Incheon, according to Yonhap News Agency. The passenger extinguished the battery and reported the incident to station staff, who inspected the scene and transferred all passengers to the next train, which arrived about seven minutes later.
The train was taken out of service and sent to a depot. No injuries were reported and train operations were not disrupted.
