Seoul's Eunpyeong-gu announced Tuesday it is recruiting 20 elementary school students for the "2026 6th Children's Rights Monitoring Group" through June 30, as part of efforts to build a community where children's rights are respected. District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung made the announcement.
The district has been working to improve children's rights, earning an advanced-level Child-Friendly City certification from UNICEF Korea last year. Appointed members will monitor cases of children's rights violations and propose policy improvements across five areas: play and culture, participation and respect, safety and protection, nutrition (dietary habits and food safety), and health and welfare.
The program is open to children who live in Eunpyeong-gu or attend an elementary school in the district, with a total of 20 spots available.
