2027 Ioniq 5 goes on sale with revised trim lineup

Price falls below 45 million won with Seoul subsidies applied

Long-range lineup restructured into five trims, standard into one

Hyundai Motor Co announced Tuesday the launch of a model-year update of the Ioniq 5, featuring a revised trim structure and stronger price competitiveness. The update lowers prices on select trims while improving the overall product offering, as out-of-pocket costs for electric vehicles have become an increasing burden for buyers.

The 2027 Ioniq 5 reorganizes the long-range lineup into five trims — E-Lite, Modern, Premium, Inspiration and N Line. The standard model continues as a single trim, the E-Value+.

Hyundai also adjusted pricing to sharpen competitiveness. The Modern trim, optimized from the specifications of the previous Exclusive trim, is priced 1.6 million won ($1,160) lower. The Premium trim, based on the former Prestige trim, comes in 900,000 won ($650) cheaper.

The newly added Inspiration trim sits at the top of the lineup, with advanced safety and convenience features included as standard. It comes with "Parking Assist" as standard — a package comprising a surround-view monitor, front, side and rear parking collision-avoidance assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. A "Comfort Plus" package is also standard, covering a power passenger seat with leg rest and relaxation comfort function, a full-seat memory system and second-row power sliding seats.

Product enhancements extend across the entire lineup. Hyundai added a tailgate emergency lamp to all 2027 Ioniq 5 trims. From the Premium trim upward, a 100W USB charging port is included as standard, improving in-cabin convenience.

Prices listed for two-wheel-drive variants reflect applicable electric vehicle tax benefits. The standard E-Value+ starts at 47.35 million won ($34,300). In the long-range lineup, the E-Lite is priced at 50.64 million won ($36,700), the Modern at 58.25 million won ($42,200), the Premium at 58.25 million won ($42,200), the Inspiration at 61.5 million won ($44,600) and the N Line at 59.45 million won ($43,100). After applying national and local government subsidies based on Seoul Metropolitan Government rates, the long-range Modern trim is expected to be available for around 45 million won ($32,600).

Hyundai is also running a launch event for customers. From Tuesday through July 31, the company will hold a draw among buyers of the 2027 Ioniq 5, with 200 winners each receiving a voucher for one display theme purchase.

A separate overseas electric vehicle experience event is also on offer. Hyundai will hold a draw for customers who complete a survey on the "Hyundai Mobility Passport in Okinawa" event page through June 14. Winners will receive a coupon worth 130,000 won ($94) to use when renting an Ioniq 5 or Kona Electric in Okinawa.

Separately, Hyundai is running the "Hyundai EV Burden Down Promotion" for Ioniq 5 vehicles that have surpassed cumulative domestic sales of 100,000 units — a 36-month installment plan that allows customers to defer vehicle return.

"The 2027 Ioniq 5 secures price competitiveness through a new trim structure," a Hyundai Motor official said. "We will deliver greater satisfaction to customers through the 2027 Ioniq 5, which combines product quality with value."
