Bank to provide stable financial support for university operations and issue student ID cards with debit card functions

Shinhan Bank said Monday it has signed a mutual cooperation MOU with Hoseo University.

The signing ceremony was held Monday at Hoseo University's Asan campus in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, and was attended by Shinhan Bank President Jung Sang-hyuk, Hoseo University President Kang Il-gu and other senior officials from both institutions.

Under the agreement, Shinhan Bank will serve as the university's primary financial partner, providing financial services needed for day-to-day operations. The bank was recently selected through a competitive bidding process as Hoseo University's main banking partner. In addition, Shinhan Bank plans to issue student ID cards with debit card functions and offer a range of financial services and benefits to faculty and students to improve their banking convenience.

Hoseo University focuses on cultivating talent in advanced industries including AI, semiconductors and biotech. The two sides agreed to continue exploring ways to cooperate in building a student-centered education environment and strengthening support systems.

"It is meaningful to become a financial partner supporting Hoseo University's education, research and administrative operations," Jung said. "We will build a sustainable co-growth model that allows both institutions to develop together, backed by convenient and innovative financial services."
