National Pension Research Institute releases AI-produced video series on key 2025 research findings
The National Pension Research Institute, an arm of the National Pension Service, said Monday it has released six AI-produced videos under its "Easy-to-Understand National Pension Research Reports" series, along with 39 research reports.
The institute said it produced the videos because the reports, previously available only in booklet form, were difficult for the general public to follow due to their heavy use of technical terminology and sheer volume of content.
Each video in the "Easy-to-Understand National Pension Research Reports" series runs about one minute and was produced using generative AI to break down complex figures and theories into accessible visual content.
From 39 studies conducted in 2025 across the pension system, fiscal projections and fund policy fields, the institute selected six topics that drew high public attention: improving the national pension system in an era of extended employment, drawing on overseas case studies; whether the national pension reduces consumption inequality, with a focus on spending patterns among middle-aged and older adults; and an evaluation of the premium support program for regionally enrolled national pension subscribers.
Han Jeong-rim, head of the National Pension Research Institute, said the AI videos were created to make the institute's research findings more accessible to the public. "We will continue to pursue various innovations so that our research does not simply remain on record, but provides real, practical help in people's lives," she said.
All reports published by the National Pension Research Institute, including the new "Easy-to-Understand National Pension Research Reports" series, are available on the institute's website.
