Job fair at DDP features AI, biotech, semiconductor and robotics firms
One-on-one on-site interviews and hiring consultations available
Youth AI Talent Festival to be held simultaneously
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will hold a job fair Sunday at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, where 60 companies in future strategic industries plan to hire about 400 people. When combined with firms participating in a youth AI talent festival taking place the same day, the total number of hiring companies is expected to reach around 100.
Seoul announced Friday it will co-host the "2026 Seoul Metropolitan Government Job Fair" with the Korea Industrial Technology Association and the Korea Student Aid Foundation. The event is designed to connect young job seekers with companies in future strategic industries — including AI, biotech, semiconductors and robotics — and will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Art Hall 1 of DDP.
Sixty companies in future industries will take part, including Huons, RoboRobo, Meere Company and PNT, conducting one-on-one on-site interviews and hiring consultations between company HR staff and job seekers. A QR code-based system will also be available for applicants to check their interview queue status and reduce wait times.
AI-powered job support programs will also be on offer. These include an AI matching chatbot called "JOB:BOT" that analyzes a candidate's desired role and working conditions to recommend suitable companies, a culture-fit diagnostic tool to help job seekers find organizations that match their personality and values, and AI competency assessments paired with employment consulting.
On the same day, Art Hall 2 and the Conference Hall at DDP will host the "Youth Employment Academy AI Talent Festival," with more than 40 companies participating. The festival will feature AI employment lectures, youth project presentations, a startup achievement showcase and a generative AI hackathon.
Creator and AI researcher Heo Seong-beom and science communicator Lee Seon-ho will deliver the AI talent lectures. An achievement showcase where young people present their AI startup ideas and an outstanding project presentation session will also be held. Twelve teams that cleared the preliminary round will compete in the hackathon final, where participants use generative AI to address youth challenges in employment, housing and culture.
The job fair and AI talent festival are open to all young job seekers. Details on participating companies and programs are available on the Seoul Metropolitan Government Jobs Portal and the event's official website.
Kim Hyeon-woo, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Economy Bureau, said the city had created "a direct meeting opportunity between outstanding future-industry companies and young talent," adding that it would "strengthen practical hiring connections between companies and job seekers."
Sunday's event marks the fourth Seoul Metropolitan Government Job Fair, following editions in 2022, 2023 and 2025. Over those previous events, 204 companies and more than 8,500 job seekers participated, with about 1,220 ultimately receiving job offers. The fair has built a reputation as more than a simple employment event — it has become a platform of opportunity for young people to grow within future industries.
