The South Jeolla-Gwangju Integrated Special City is accepting public nominations for its cultural award.

The award recognizes individuals who have made notable contributions to the development of arts and culture in the Namdo region through achievements in literature, the arts, academia or the cultural industries, or through active engagement in cultural and artistic activities.

Up to 10 recipients will be selected. Nominations may be submitted by heads of organizations in each category, university presidents, heads of media outlets, superintendents of education, and mayors or county chiefs.

Nomination documents may be submitted in person or by mail. A selection committee will review candidates this month before making final decisions. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the South Jeolla Arts Festival in December.
