The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education has joined forces with the Daegu city government, public institutions relocated to the city's innovation district and Gangdong High School to improve local education conditions and nurture future talent.

The education office signed a mutual cooperation agreement Tuesday at the Sanggyeok annex of Daegu City Hall with the city government, Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, the National Information Society Agency and Gangdong High School to improve educational conditions in the innovation district.

The agreement aims to enhance schooling conditions for children of employees at public institutions relocated to the innovation district and to strengthen a locally tailored curriculum through the Autonomous Public High School 2.0 program.

Under the agreement, the education office and the city government will provide administrative and fiscal support for Gangdong High School's curriculum operations and improvements to its educational environment.

The three relocated public institutions will contribute their human and material resources to help develop specialized curricula in AI, digital finance and energy, and to support joint project-based classes.

Gangdong High School plans to systematically manage the collaborative projects and leverage the support it receives to generate results that advance education in the region.

"A strong educational environment is the foundation that drives regional growth and keeps talent rooted in the community," Daegu Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee said. "We will support students in receiving a high-quality education locally and growing into convergence-minded leaders who can shape the future."
