The city of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province will release a limited-edition ramyun made entirely from locally grown wheat to mark its annual ramen festival.
According to the city, 200,000 packs of the commemorative ramyun will be produced and sold during the fifth Gumi Ramen Festival, which runs Friday through Sunday at Gumi Station and the surrounding area.
The product is a beef broth-flavored ramyun made from wheat harvested by local farms and will be produced in limited quantities at Nongshim's Gumi factory.
The ramyun goes on sale at the festival venue's "Gotland" zone on Friday, the opening day of the festival.
Gumi Mayor Kim Jang-ho said the city aims to "link Gumi's industrial, agricultural and tourism resources to raise the region's profile and develop Gumi into a world-class K-ramen tourism city."
