3,400 briquettes and daily necessities delivered to vulnerable households in Daejeon's Dong-gu
Korea National Railway said Tuesday it held its joint labor-management "2026 Briquettes of Love" volunteer drive in Dong-gu, Daejeon.
About 90 employees took part, including Chairman Jung Jin-hyuk and union chief Lee Seong-jae. The group visited 17 low-income households in the area, delivering 3,400 briquettes and daily necessities. In addition, the organization donated 15,000 briquettes to the Daejeon Briquette Bank.
"We hope the briquettes, filled with the warmth of our employees' hearts, will bring real comfort to our neighbors," Jung said. "We will continue to work together — labor and management as one — to identify where attentive support is needed in our communities and make a genuine difference."
Meanwhile, the "Briquettes of Love" initiative has been one of Korea National Railway's signature community outreach programs since 2006, now in its 21st year. Through this year, the organization has donated a cumulative 570,000 briquettes in support of local communities.
