The Busan City Council announced Tuesday that it will hold its 341st regular session over 43 days, running through Dec. 15. During the session, the council will conduct administrative audits reviewing this year's city administration and examine 116 agenda items, including next year's budget bill that will set the policy direction for 2027.

At the first plenary session on Tuesday, 12 lawmakers will deliver five-minute open-floor speeches urging action on key issues across various sectors, including personnel vetting at public institutions, the new airport and transportation infrastructure, the development of new marine industries, and measures to prevent youth outmigration.

Each standing committee will carry out administrative audits of the city government, the city education office, and affiliated public corporations, foundations and investment entities from Wednesday through Nov. 17, followed by two days of general agenda review — including ordinance bills — on Nov. 18 and 19.

The second plenary session, on Nov. 20, will hear proposal briefings from the mayor and the superintendent of education on the submission of the fiscal year 2027 budget bill. Standing committees will then conduct preliminary budget reviews from Nov. 21 through Dec. 1, followed by a comprehensive review by the Budget and Accounts Special Committee from Dec. 2 through Dec. 9, with a final vote scheduled at the third plenary session on Dec. 10.

Standing committees will complete additional reviews of ordinance bills and other items from Dec. 11 through Dec. 14. The fourth and final plenary session on Dec. 15 will adopt the results report on this year's administrative audits and take final votes on remaining agenda items, bringing the council's full legislative calendar for the year to a close.
