As autumn deepens, residents of Yongsan-gu will have the chance to enjoy an evening of choral music and tango together.

Yongsan-gu will hold the 20th Yongsan District Choir Regular Concert at the Mir Grand Theater of Yongsan Arts Hall, located at 150 Noksapyeong-daero, on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The event is designed to give residents easy access to diverse cultural and artistic experiences and to foster connection through music.

Marking the concert's 20th edition, the Yongsan District Choir will take the stage alongside the Dongducheon City Choir in a program centered on "Tango Misa" — choral music that weaves the rhythms and melodies of Argentine tango into the traditional Mass form.

The collaboration between the two choirs promises a rich, layered sound. Performances on the bandoneón — an instrument similar to the accordion and closely associated with tango — and violin will add the genre's distinctive emotion and vitality.

The performance will feature conductor Kim Se-ung, pianist Jeong Hyo-seop, soprano Kim Seul-gi, bandoneón player Kim Guk-ju and violinist Lee Seo-jin.

The Yongsan District Choir has long engaged with the local community through cultural events and performances, contributing to the vitality of arts in the district. The concert is expected to continue that tradition while deepening musical exchange through the inter-city choral collaboration.

Admission is free for all Yongsan-gu residents. For more information, contact the Yongsan-gu Office's Culture Promotion Division.

"The 20th regular concert is a meaningful stage on which the Yongsan District Choir has communicated with residents through music," Yongsan-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae said. "I hope this performance, where choral music and tango come together, brings joy and inspiration to residents in their everyday lives." Kim added that the district would consistently develop performances and cultural programs so residents can enjoy a wide range of arts close to home.
