Geumcheon-gu will offer a 5% cashback on payments made with the Geumcheon G-Valley Love Gift Voucher during the Korea Grand Festival, running from Thursday through Nov. 15.

The Korea Grand Festival is a nationwide consumer campaign designed to boost domestic demand and encourage local spending.

Residents who pay with the Geumcheon G-Valley Love Gift Voucher during the event period will receive 5% of their payment back, until the allocated budget runs out. Both the old and new versions of the voucher qualify for the cashback, meaning residents can use vouchers they already hold.

Cashback will be paid automatically, with no separate application required. Payments made from Thursday through Saturday will be refunded on Nov. 20, while payments made from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15 will be refunded on Dec. 20.

Geumcheon-gu issued 21 billion won ($15.7 million) worth of Geumcheon G-Valley Love Gift Vouchers this year, selling them at a 5% discount — all of which sold out. The district had previously run a 5% cashback promotion alongside the discount, giving buyers a combined 10% benefit. The cashback event is being relaunched to coincide with the Korea Grand Festival.

Geumcheon-gu District Mayor Choi Ki-chan said the festival would drive more spending in the local area and help small business owners increase sales. "We will continue to roll out a range of support measures to invigorate local commercial districts and help small business owners stabilize their operations," Choi said.
