Mapo-gu District Mayor Yoo Dong-kyun joined Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon on Thursday afternoon for a safety inspection of the Hongdae tourism special zone ahead of Halloween.
The two officials first reviewed safety management plans from the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Mapo-gu, police and fire department at a joint on-site operations center in Mapo-gu, then walked through Hongdae's club street and Hongtong Street to assess pedestrian flow, safety facilities and crowd-management systems.
The inspection focused on securing the safety of residents and foreign tourists during the Halloween period and on confirming the cooperative framework among relevant agencies to ensure consistent safety management year-round.
