George Mason University Korea has taken top honors at a globally recognized awards ceremony evaluating business and technology innovation worldwide.

The Incheon-based campus won the gold award in the Educational/Research Institution of the Year — Educational Technology category and the bronze award in the Global Collaboration Achievement category at the 2026 Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence, held Wednesday (local time) in Paris, France.

Now in its third year, the Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence selected winners from more than 700 entries submitted by organizations in 37 countries, evaluated by a panel of over 160 global experts.

George Mason University Korea was recognized for expanding educational technology into real-world problem-solving and into an industry-academia and defense research ecosystem, guided by its vision of "One Mason. Two Nations. Infinite Innovation."

The judging panel highlighted the campus's distinctive education and research model, which organically links three initiatives: the C5I Korea Center, which leads defense AI research; the Korea Serious Games Institute (KSGI), which generates social value; and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which bridges the Korean and American startup ecosystems.

Judges described George Mason University Korea as a highly impressive example of innovation that integrates AI research, serious games, defense technology and entrepreneurship within a single global education ecosystem, calling it a differentiated institution that combines academic growth, international collaboration and technology leadership.

"This award is the fruit of our efforts to develop educational technology into a platform connecting research, industry and national challenges on the global stage," said Joshua Park, president of George Mason University Korea. "We will continue to strengthen an educational environment where students can prove their competitiveness globally, in close collaboration with our main campus in the United States."
