The Incheon Yeongjong Police Station on Thursday detained a man in his 30s, identified only as A, on charges of aggravated intimidation after he was found roaming a park with a bladed weapon.
Incheon District Court Judge Jeon Gyeong-ho, presiding over a pre-detention hearing, issued the warrant on the grounds that the suspect posed a risk of destroying evidence or fleeing.
A is accused of brandishing a knife in front of a couple at a park in Yeongjong-gu, Incheon, on the afternoon of Sept. 28.
The couple, who reported the incident, told police that A — his face covered by a mask — had been carrying a blade roughly the length of a finger.
A told investigators that he had been carrying the weapon but denied any intent to threaten anyone.
