The Born Korea announced Thursday that monthly average sales at its US Saemaul Sikdang restaurants, which first opened in 2023, have grown about 70 percent in roughly three years.
As of the end of September, the Texas-based Saemaul Sikdang locations were posting monthly average sales approximately 70 percent higher than in their opening year of 2023. Last year's sales rose about 38 percent from the year before.
The brand is also gaining traction in Thailand and Mongolia. In Thailand, 14 Saemaul Sikdang stores generated average monthly sales of around 100 million won ($75,300) per location last year. In Mongolia, the company opened two new stores in the first half of this year.
"We plan to continue strengthening our global business competitiveness," a Born Korea official said, adding that the company would explore new store formats capable of offering a differentiated dining experience for both foreign tourists visiting Korea and domestic consumers.
