Actress Hwang Jung-eum has revealed she still holds warm feelings for her former boyfriend Kim Yong-jun of the vocal group SG Wannabe.
A video titled "The Day Hwang's Golden Boys Shower Her with Questions" was posted Wednesday on Hwang's YouTube channel.
During the fan Q&A session, Hwang was asked whether she had ever run into Kim by chance since their breakup. "I've never bumped into him once," she said, before adding, "I actually miss Yong-jun a little."
When a producer suggested the two had shared their most beautiful and youthful years together, Hwang said Kim was "a friend I have so many wonderful memories with" and described their relationship as one where "if we passed each other on the street, we could greet each other warmly."
Hwang and Kim went public with their relationship in 2006 and became one of the entertainment industry's most celebrated long-running couples. They gained wide popularity appearing together on the MBC variety program "We Got Married" in 2009, but parted ways in 2015 after roughly nine years together.
Meanwhile, Hwang said that if she could turn back time, she would return to 2015 — before her marriage — describing it as "a period when I was shining as an actress."
Hwang, who has stepped back from acting since the SBS drama series "Seven's Revival" aired in 2024, said her current income is zero, adding that she has been selling gold received at her two sons' first-birthday celebrations and has even canceled her insurance to get by.
