Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o attended a donation ceremony Monday afternoon at his district office, where merchants association representatives presented proceeds from the Nowon Craft Beer Festival and received his thanks for their contributions to revitalizing the local commercial district.
The ceremony was organized by traditional market and alley shopping district merchants associations that participated in the 2026 Nowon Craft Beer Festival, as a way to share the festival's success with the broader community. Oh Hyeong-hwan, chairman of the Gongneung-dong Dokkaebi Market merchants association; Kwon Seok-geun, chairman of the Sanggye Jungang Market merchants association; and Choe Jeong-min, chairman of the Gongneung Railroad Alley shopping district, attended and presented a combined donation of 7.28 million won ($5,420).
A total of 15 vendors took part in this year's craft beer festival — four from Gongneung-dong Dokkaebi Market, four from Sanggye Jungang Market, and seven from the Gongneung Railroad Alley shopping district.
"It is all the more meaningful that the fruits of a festival created together by residents and merchants are being shared for the benefit of the local community," District Mayor Seo said. "We will continue to provide effective administrative support so that the local commercial district can grow sustainably and thrive alongside residents."
