Skies will be mostly clear across the country Saturday, with temperatures rising sharply to bring mild, comfortable conditions. However, clouds will begin moving in overnight, and strong rain accompanied by gusty winds is forecast to sweep the entire country Sunday.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, a high-pressure system over the East Sea will keep skies largely clear Saturday. Afternoon highs are expected to range from 21 to 27 degrees Celsius — Seoul, Incheon, Suwon and Cheongju are forecast to reach 25 C, Daejeon, Sejong and Gwangju 26 C, and Jeonju 27 C. The temperature swing between day and night is expected to reach around 15 C in inland areas.

Strong winds will pick up across most of the country in the afternoon. By evening, clouds moving in from the Yellow Sea will cause skies to gradually cloud over, starting from western regions.

Sunday will be mostly overcast with rain nationwide. The Korea Meteorological Administration said the rain will begin before dawn in Incheon, northern Gyeonggi Province and Jeju Island, spread to other central regions by morning, and expand to most of the country from the afternoon onward.

The rain is expected to taper off in central regions by Sunday night, but will continue in southern areas through Monday morning and on Jeju Island through Monday afternoon in some locations.

The rain may be accompanied by strong gusts, thunder and lightning, and residents in affected areas are urged to take extra precautions against weather-related accidents.

Forecast rainfall totals are 30–80 millimeters for the greater Seoul area, the five West Sea islands, Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong Province, North Chungcheong Province and North Jeolla Province, and 20–70 mm for inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province. Gwangju and South Jeolla Province can expect 20–60 mm. Northern and central inland areas of North Gyeongsang Province, its northeastern mountain zones, Busan, Ulsan and South Gyeongsang Province are forecast to receive 10–50 mm, while Daegu, southern inland North Gyeongsang Province, the North Gyeongsang coast, Ulleungdo and Dokdo are expected to see 5–40 mm.

Sunday morning lows are forecast at 11–20 C, with afternoon highs of 20–27 C.
