Yuanta Securities Korea plans to launch a service this year that uses AI to analyze major investment news and refresh a ranking of key market keywords every 30 minutes. Woori Investment & Securities is also preparing to roll out a service this month that lets users preview AI-generated market commentary and Federal Open Market Committee research notes. As brokerages sharpen their market analysis and personalized investment information tools with AI, competition in the space is intensifying.

Yuanta Securities Korea is developing an "AI real-time keyword" service with a target launch before year-end, according to the financial investment industry Friday. The feature will be added to "AI PB," a personalized AI-based investment information service the firm launched in June, and will use generative AI to analyze major investment news and display a ranking of keywords drawing the most market attention.

"We group news articles by their core keywords and calculate keyword rankings by factoring in mention volume and user preferences for each group," a Yuanta Securities Korea official said. "Rankings show up to 10 keywords and are refreshed every 30 minutes."

When an investor selects a keyword, the service displays a summary of key content from related news articles along with two or three AI analyses. It also shows the names, ticker codes, current prices and price-change rates of stocks linked to the issue, allowing investors to track major market themes and related stock movements at a glance without searching through individual articles.

Woori Investment & Securities is also set to unveil a "lab" service this month that lets users preview AI content before its official release. The service will initially offer AI market commentary and FOMC research notes. The firm also plans to extend its AI services — currently available on its mobile trading system (MTS) — to its web trading system and website in conjunction with a new IT system upgrade scheduled for 2027.

"We analyze a range of AI signals, market factors and market sensitivity to explain overall market trends and the movements of individual stocks," a Woori Investment & Securities official said. "We also identify stocks related to news and provide information on positive and negative catalysts to support investor decision-making."

Other brokerages are also expanding their AI investment information services. Toss Securities added a "Market" tab to its MTS on Wednesday and upgraded the AI capabilities of its existing "Real-time Issues" service. The new tab provides hourly AI summaries of the day's key market developments, while the revamped "Real-time Issues" feature now offers more detailed explanations of the background and progression of major market events. The service also includes an "AI Chat" function that answers investor questions based on relevant news articles.

Korea Investment & Securities launched a service called "Research Read Aloud" on the same day, delivering AI-narrated summaries and analyses of research notes. Mirae Asset Securities, meanwhile, relaunched its MTS as "MAPS" this month, introducing a "Market Now" feature that summarizes intraday market conditions in a single sentence at two-hour intervals.

AI is also spreading into stock order execution. "MCP Trading," launched by Daol Investment & Securities this month, connects a brokerage account to the chat interface of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, allowing users to check balances and market prices and place stock orders. However, the AI does not execute trades on its own — an order is only transmitted after the investor reviews and gives final approval.

According to a report published by the Korea Capital Market Institute in February, the scope of generative AI applications is expanding to include automated investment research, personalized advisory services and investment strategy support. The report said AI adoption is expected to improve the efficiency of research operations and enhance the quality of customized investment services for individual customers.

"AI has already established itself as a core asset in the financial investment industry," said Kim Jin-young, a researcher at the Korea Capital Market Institute. He added that building the data infrastructure and accountability frameworks needed to support the broader use of AI technology must go hand in hand with its adoption.
