Move follows July reorganization
Korea National Oil Corp. said Friday it will hire seven private-sector specialists through open-contract and experienced-hire positions to strengthen energy security and secure new drivers of future growth.
The recruitment covers two open-contract positions and five experienced hires. The open-contract roles will focus on storage facility construction and AI and data innovation, with the aim of rapidly building capacity for new reserve base construction while accelerating the digital transformation of oil development and storage operations through the addition of AI and data specialists.
The five experienced hires will be drawn from storage facility construction, crude oil trading and cybersecurity, targeting candidates who can contribute immediately. The company said the move is intended to raise the quality of ongoing storage facility expansion work, strengthen global trading capabilities and bolster information security.
Earlier, in July, the company restructured its organization under a drive for "management innovation at a public institution that contributes to growth and people's livelihoods," creating dedicated units for storage facility scale-up and international joint storage projects and overhauling its structure around performance, competency and expertise. The latest round of private-sector hiring extends that reorganization, designed to bring in top talent to drive tangible results across core business areas.
"Following the earlier reorganization, this private-sector hiring drive is a critical step toward significantly expanding the openness of our personnel operations and fully embedding an expertise-driven way of working," President Son Ju-seok said.
He added that the company would "seek the attention and applications of outstanding talent who can raise our competitiveness and lead innovation in pursuit of the government's policy goals," pledging to select the best candidates through a fair and transparent hiring process.
