The iM Social Contribution Foundation of iM Financial Group participated as a sponsoring organization at an event recognizing outstanding public-interest activities and sharing their results, supporting the spread of a culture of giving.

The foundation announced Thursday that it attended the inaugural Korea Public Interest Activity Impact Award and Sharing Conference, held Wednesday at FKI Tower in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and presented a sponsorship contribution.

The event was organized to identify and honor public-interest programs that have contributed to solving social problems and driving community change, and to publicize their outcomes. The foundation participated as a sponsor by pooling contributions from employees of iM Bank and other affiliates.

At the awards ceremony, 31 programs across six fields — including social welfare, education, culture and the arts, and international development — were selected as winners. The foundation presented its chairman's award to three organizations, including World Vision for its project to strengthen the resilience of refugees and host communities in Kalobeyei, Kenya.

A conference held afterward focused on the theme of "AI and public-interest activities," with participants sharing practical cases of using AI in nonprofit work as well as data-driven fundraising and campaign planning. The aim was to let organizations share their experience so others could apply it in their own work. Attendees also reviewed the processes and outcomes of standout programs and discussed ways to replicate them across other organizations and communities.

Hwang Byung-woo, chairman of the iM Social Contribution Foundation, said he hoped the event would "widely publicize the value of outstanding public-interest activities that are creating real change throughout our society, and serve as an opportunity for even greater giving and participation." He added that the foundation would "continue to pursue ESG projects in collaboration with various organizations to help address social problems and spread the value of sharing across society."

Meanwhile, the foundation continues to carry out community-oriented social contribution activities in partnership with institutions and citizens, including its Social Contribution Partners Day, a HappyBean double-donation project and a youth initiative team program.
