The Busan city government announced Wednesday that it will hold "Busan Finance Week 2026" at BEXCO Convention Hall on Friday and Saturday, bringing together citizens, businesses and financial institutions for a two-day program.

This year's event features 38 programs in total — including financial seminars, educational sessions and job fairs — designed to be accessible not only to financial institutions, companies and industry experts but also to the general public.

A standout feature of this year's event is a significantly expanded financial education track for younger generations, including children, teenagers and young adults. Children and teenagers will be able to learn economic and financial principles through board games and hands-on activities, while young adults will receive personal finance and asset management education alongside job-search consulting and financial-sector recruitment sessions.

For the general public, the event will offer practical financial seminars covering domestic and international economic conditions, the stock market, real estate, pension planning and gold investment, as well as hands-on education in AI and fintech applications.

Businesses will have access to key information on capital market strategies and corporate growth, with sessions on value-up initiatives, Kosdaq and Konex listing procedures, initial public offering practices, and startup and growth strategies. Networking opportunities with financial institutions will also be available.

The event opens with a ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday and is free to attend for anyone interested.

Busan Mayor Jeon Jae-soo urged families and young people to take part, saying, "This year we have significantly strengthened programs so that children, teenagers and young adults — the next generation — can learn about finance in an easy and enjoyable way and prepare for their futures. We hope to see many families and young visitors join us."
