BNK Financial Group and Renault Korea announced Friday they signed an MOU on Thursday to promote industrial finance in support of the regional automotive industry. The agreement aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the local auto sector and inject vitality into the regional economy.

Under the MOU, BNK Financial will build a financial support framework spanning the broader automotive industry ecosystem — covering suppliers, employees and consumers — with Renault Korea serving as the anchor company. BNK will provide Renault Korea and its suppliers with a range of financial services, including loans, guarantees and investment, tailored to each supplier's business activities and stage of growth.

Group affiliate Busan Bank will offer corporate loans and specialized financial services for Renault Korea employees, while BNK Capital will supply long-term vehicle rental products to improve the financial convenience of vehicle purchase customers. Together, the affiliates plan to deliver financial services across the full production-to-consumption cycle of the automotive industry.

Renault Korea will inform its suppliers about BNK's industrial finance products and services, and will work with supplier councils and related networks to share information on available financial support. The two companies plan to form a working-level consultative body as needed to identify specific areas of cooperation and translate the diverse financial needs of the automotive industry into concrete support.

BNK Financial Group said it will use the agreement as a springboard to deepen ties with leading companies driving the region's traditional manufacturing industries and advanced strategic sectors. The group plans to supply financial services across the entire industrial ecosystem — connecting anchor companies with their suppliers, employees and consumers — to underpin the growth of the regional economy.

"Through this agreement, we will faithfully fulfill the role of finance in supporting the stable growth and competitiveness of Renault Korea and its suppliers, and in ensuring that the growth of the automotive industry translates into vitality for the broader regional economy," a BNK Financial Group official said.
