Yeongdeungpo-gu residents may book from the 20th to the 24th of each month; all others from the 25th through month-end... District Mayor Jo Yu-jin: "Yeongdeungpo is truly the 'No. 1 school district for park golf' — we will build the finest course in the land."
Yeongdeungpo-gu held an opening ceremony Thursday for its No. 2 Park Golf Course along the Anyangcheon, officially launching operations at the new facility.
With the opening, the district has unveiled what it calls the first and largest 36-hole park golf course among Seoul's autonomous districts.
About 100 people attended the ceremony, including Yeongdeungpo-gu District Mayor Jo Yu-jin, officials from the Yeongdeungpo-gu Sports Council and the Yeongdeungpo-gu Park Golf Association, and local residents. The event proceeded with an unveiling ceremony, a ceremonial first stroke, and a facility round.
The newly opened No. 2 course spans 20,797 square meters and sits alongside the existing No. 1 course (18,236 square meters) along the Anyangcheon. Together, the two courses cover a combined 39,033 square meters. Set against the scenic waterside landscape of the Anyangcheon, the site has become a destination where residents can enjoy both recreational sports and relaxation in their daily lives.
The district completed construction of the No. 2 course on June 23 and spent roughly two months through Wednesday focused on turf management and facility upkeep before the formal opening.
During that period, crews carried out growth management to promote early turf establishment and improve density, while also completing facility improvements for visitor convenience and safety — including expanded restrooms and scaled-up electrical and plumbing infrastructure.
Both the No. 1 and No. 2 park golf courses in Yeongdeungpo can be booked online through the Yeongdeungpo-gu Facilities Management Corporation's integrated park golf reservation website. Yeongdeungpo-gu residents may reserve tee times for the following month from the 20th to the 24th of each month, while residents of other districts may book from the 25th through the end of the month.
Going forward, the district plans to conduct ongoing facility inspections and gather user feedback to ensure the stable operation of the new No. 2 Park Golf Course.
"With the opening of the No. 2 Park Golf Course, Yeongdeungpo has truly become the 'No. 1 school district for park golf' in every sense of the word," District Mayor Jo said. "We will build the finest park golf course in the land — a place where residents can dream big and enjoy active lives amid the natural beauty of the Anyangcheon."
