Event runs through Oct. 7, with 100 winners per game receiving chicken and cheering clappers
Samsung Securities is running a fried chicken giveaway at Jamsil Baseball Stadium from Tuesday through Oct. 7, offering 100 winners per game a chicken meal and cheering clappers as part of a pension awareness campaign.
The event kicked off Tuesday at the Sports Complex Station exit of Jamsil Baseball Stadium, where 100 pre-registered winners received a package including fried chicken — a ballpark staple — and cheering accessories. The promotion was designed to bring a fresh experience to fans attending games during the final week of the professional baseball regular season.
To enter, participants watched a campaign video on Samsung Securities' official YouTube channel, left a witty pension-themed comment ending with the Korean word for "chicken," and submitted an entry via Google Forms. One hundred winners were drawn for each game date. Along with the chicken, winners receive a cheering clapper bearing the slogan "I signed up for a Samsung Securities pension!" Packages can be picked up on game day at a pop-up booth at Exit 6 of Sports Complex Station.
Samsung Securities is also running a broader campaign through 21 pillar advertisements inside Sports Complex Station, featuring slogans such as "I signed up for a Samsung Securities pension — so I feel secure," "so my retirement will be happy," and "so my pension power has grown."
"As professional baseball continues to soar in popularity, we prepared this event to give fans a special memory at the ballpark," a Samsung Securities official said. "We hope it serves as an opportunity for younger generations to see pensions not as a distant financial product but as something to take an interest in and start preparing for now."
Samsung Securities saw its individual retirement pension reserves grow 40.3 percent in the first half of this year. The total IRP market stood at 166.36 trillion won ($122 billion) at the end of June, up 27.1 percent from the end of last year.
