Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o attended the third Seokgye Station Moonlight Night Market at the cultural park near Seokgye Station on Saturday afternoon, touring the venue and celebrating the event's opening.
Now in its third year, the Seokgye Station Moonlight Night Market is Wolgye-dong's signature nighttime festival, blending retro cultural content with the neighborhood's small-business district. The event featured food stalls and a flea market run by local small business owners, along with experience booths, photo zones and cultural performances.
A retro space themed "Memory Lane" was also on offer, with recreations of a movie theater, photo studio and arcade, as well as traditional game experience zones that gave visitors a distinctive treat.
Seo toured the food and flea market booths, encouraging local small business owners, then mingled with residents and joined in the festivities.
The main stage featured a range of performances, including electric strings and retro dance acts, while busking acts — accordion, violin, bubble shows and acoustic guitar — filled spots throughout the venue. After a lighting ceremony at 7 p.m., singer Kim Wan-sun and a DJ set took the stage, adding to the autumn night atmosphere at Seokgye Station.
The district deployed safety personnel and restricted vehicle traffic around the venue to ensure the festival ran safely. The Nowon Route 09 community bus also operated a temporary detour to avoid the event area.
"I hope residents who come to Seokgye Station will make autumn night memories enjoying delicious food and music under the moonlight," Seo said. "I also hope this festival gives local merchants a great opportunity to meet customers in person and bring more energy to the commercial district."
