Shin Sang-yeol, executive vice president of Nongshim and a third-generation member of the founding family, married the daughter of former judge and writer Moon Yu-seok on Sunday.

The ceremony was held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Dynasty Hall of the Seoul Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. The bride, surnamed Moon, works at SK Telecom. Shin, 33, is the grandson of the late Nongshim founder Shin Chun-ho and the eldest son of Nongshim Chairman Shin Dong-won.

Shin interned at Nongshim for two years starting in 2015 and joined the company's management planning division in 2019 after graduating from Columbia University with a degree in industrial engineering. He subsequently served as executive director overseeing procurement and as executive director of the future business division before being promoted to senior executive director in November 2024. He was elevated to executive vice president in January.

The bride is the daughter of Moon Yu-seok, a former senior judge who became a bestselling author, and works in a division at SK Telecom related to AI transformation, according to Edaily.

Moon completed the 26th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute in 1997 and was appointed as a judge at the Seoul District Court. He went on to serve as a judge at Seoul High Court and as a senior judge at the Gwangju District Court, Incheon District Court and Seoul Eastern District Court.

Moon rose to literary prominence after his essay collections "Pansayugam" (2014) and "Gaeinjoouija Seoneon" (2015) became bestsellers. He also wrote the screenplays for the drama series "Pro Bono," "Miss Hammurabi" and "The Devil Judge."
