A sitting judge has been caught by police on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Seocho Police Station in Seoul is investigating a Seoul High Court judge, identified only by the surname A, on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act by driving drunk, Yonhap reported Friday.
The judge is accused of driving a vehicle while intoxicated on a road in Seocho-gu, Seoul, around 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Police were dispatched after receiving a report of a vehicle suspected of drunk driving and apprehended the judge at the scene. No one was injured as a result of the drunk driving.
The judge's blood alcohol level was reportedly at a level that would warrant a license suspension.
After administering the breath test, police allowed the judge to return home and plan to summon him later for further questioning on the details of the case.
