Company says new product focuses on delivering high-quality coffee flavor
Coway has launched a new "Cafe Ice Water Purifier" featuring brewing technology.
The product focuses on delivering authentic coffee flavor, supporting everything from capsule coffee to drip coffee. Unlike conventional coffee machines that accept only a single capsule format, the new model uses a swappable container structure to broaden capsule compatibility. Three dedicated containers are available — one for Nespresso-compatible capsules, one for Dolce Gusto-compatible capsules, and a custom capsule container for ground beans — allowing users to brew their preferred coffee. A dedicated brewing faucet attachment also enables drip coffee preparation.
The coffee extraction unit features a detachable modular structure, allowing users to remove and clean the capsule container and coffee faucet tip at any time.
"The product applies professional brewing technology found in high-end coffee machines to deliver a refined coffee flavor," Coway said. "Pre-infusion technology is built in, saturating the grounds with low-pressure water before extraction to produce a uniform, full-bodied taste. A bypass function is also included, adding water separately after espresso extraction to preserve the aroma and flavor."
The company also said it partnered with the Korea Coffee Association to develop optimal brewing recipes tailored to different bean characteristics. When the dedicated brewing faucet is attached, the machine automatically adjusts water temperature, volume and brewing time based on the roast level and quantity of the beans, producing drip coffee suited to their profile with a single button press.
The Cafe Ice Water Purifier is also equipped with a high-capacity ice-making function for on-demand cold beverages. Using Coway's proprietary dual rapid ice-making system, the unit can produce up to about 5.1 kilograms — roughly 580 pieces — of ice per day.
