The Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association announced Monday that it held a signing ceremony at its headquarters in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, to formalize the Iceberg Golf·Seoul Shinmun Open.
The tournament, co-hosted by Seoul Shinmun and Iceberg Golf and organized by the KLPGA, will be held as part of the 2026 KLPGA Tour season. It will carry a purse of 1.5 billion won ($1.11 million) — the largest of any event on the tour this season — and will be played over three days beginning Oct. 16 at H1 Club in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Iceberg Golf CEO Yu Yong-moon, who attended the ceremony, said he was honored to share a meaningful journey with Seoul Shinmun, with its long history and tradition, and the KLPGA. "We will do our utmost to create a stage where players can showcase their full abilities," he said.
KLPGA Chairman Kim Sang-yeol said it was significant that such a strong tournament would be held in October, when competition for key titles reaches its peak. "We will provide full support so that the event becomes a festival where players deliver unforgettable performances in fierce ranking battles and connect with fans," he said.
Iceberg Golf is a golf apparel brand launched in South Korea in 2024, bringing the sensibility of Iceberg — an Italian fashion brand founded in 1974 — to the fairway.
