Fuel additive designed for diesel commercial vehicle DPF maintenance
"Excellent fuel efficiency improvement, leading the way in easing financial burden on truck owners"
Bullsone, an automotive products company, announced Monday the launch of its new Bullsone Shot DPF Power Cleaner, a fuel additive designed to help drivers of diesel commercial vehicles — including trucks and buses — manage their diesel particulate filters. The product is poured directly into the fuel tank, enabling DPF maintenance during everyday driving.
A DPF captures soot from diesel engine exhaust and burns it off at high temperatures during a regeneration cycle, making it a critical component of the emissions system.
Excessive soot buildup inside a DPF can trigger warning lights and reduce engine output and fuel efficiency, while a DPF failure can result in costly repairs. For truck drivers whose livelihoods depend on keeping their vehicles on the road, the consequences extend beyond repair bills to lost income from downtime, making consistent DPF maintenance particularly important.
The Bullsone Shot DPF Power Cleaner is formulated specifically for DPF care. When added to fuel, it lowers the combustion temperature of soot trapped in the filter, helping the DPF regenerate more smoothly during normal driving. This slows the rate at which soot accumulates inside the filter and reduces the amount of fuel consumed during regeneration, contributing to improved fuel efficiency.
Bullsone tested the product on a 2021 diesel freight truck under identical driving conditions, measuring changes in soot levels inside the DPF before and after adding the product. At 90 kilometers per hour, the rate of soot accumulation fell by about 40 percent compared with untreated fuel.
The product comes in a 1-liter bottle suited to the large fuel tanks found in trucks and buses. For a tank with a 200-liter capacity, one bottle is added before filling to at least two-thirds of its capacity. Two bottles are recommended for trucks with larger tanks, and the product should be used every 3,000 to 5,000 kilometers. It is available at gas stations and other offline retail channels.
Choi Young-muk, brand manager for the Bullsone Shot line, said the product was developed so that commercial vehicle drivers — whose work depends on their vehicles — can easily manage their DPF as part of their regular refueling routine. "We hope it helps drivers maintain their vehicles in good condition and reduce the risk of major repair costs down the line," he said.
Meanwhile, Bullsone has been expanding its customer touchpoints through a range of marketing activities, including having its healthcare brand Balance serve as an official sponsor of the 2026 ACC Sky Garden Spacing-Out Competition held at the National Asian Culture Center's Sky Garden in Gwangju.
