Seoul's Dobong-gu has launched its "2026 Dobong-gu Campaign Pledge Evaluation Panel" for the 9th elected term, kicking off a formal process to ensure the district's campaign commitments are fulfilled transparently and responsibly.

The panel will participate directly in drawing up the pledge implementation plan, reviewing whether adjustments to individual pledge projects are appropriate and recommending directions for improvement.

It serves as a communication channel through which residents' voices feed into district administration, strengthening the transparency and effectiveness of campaign pledges as the district charts its future together with its citizens.

This year's panel comprises 35 residents representing a diverse mix of neighborhoods, genders and age groups across the district.

At its first meeting on Aug. 28, panel members attended an orientation covering the panel's purpose and role as well as an overview of local conditions.

The panel then formed five subgroups and selected 15 agenda items for deliberation: 11 pledge projects requiring broader public input — including a project to upgrade aging subway stations — and four projects that need adjustment in response to shifting policy conditions.

At the second meeting, held Friday, members heard briefings from district officials responsible for each project and engaged in in-depth discussion of the agenda items.

The third meeting, scheduled for Sept. 18, will produce improvement recommendations on the pledge projects and conclude with a final review of the adjustment items. The results and the pledge implementation plan will be made public on the district's official website.

"Through the operation of the Campaign Pledge Evaluation Panel, we will strengthen the substance of our pledge implementation plan," Dobong-gu District Mayor Kim Dong-wook said. "We will do our utmost to reflect the opinions you have shared in district administration and bring about a great transformation for Dobong."
