The Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation said fans of singer Lim Young-woong have donated a cumulative 134.05 million won ($98,600) in his name through prize money from the Seonhan Star Gawangjeon competition. An additional 2 million won was contributed earlier this month.

The foundation said Sunday the funds will be used to support medical treatment costs for young patients across the country, including those in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province.

Families of children requiring surgery and long-term treatment face ongoing financial burdens beyond hospital bills — including transplant costs and medication expenses. The donations will help create a more stable environment for those children to continue their treatment.

The steady support from Lim's fans has gone beyond monthly voting campaigns to become a source of giving for children in need.

The foundation said the love fans send to the artist has expanded into sponsorship that protects treatment opportunities for young patients, creating a long-running cycle of positive impact.

"The longer treatment continues, the greater the financial burden families of children and teenagers with childhood cancer and rare intractable diseases must bear," said Hong Seung-yun, a director at the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation. "We are deeply grateful to Lim Young-woong and his fans for their unwavering warmth over the years, and we will make sure the donations reach where they are needed most so they can provide real help to children continuing their treatment."

The Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation is a nonprofit foundation registered with the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2001. It carries out a range of welfare projects for children and teenagers with childhood cancer and rare intractable diseases, including support for medical and care treatment costs, emotional support and the operation of rest facilities.

Meanwhile, fans said Lim will make a comeback to mark his 10th debut anniversary with a special digital album, "IM HERO 10," featuring 10 tracks in total.

The album includes six new songs — among them "Moise" and "New York" — alongside remakes of existing hit songs. All tracks are set to be unveiled for the first time at the 2026 concert "IM HERO - THE STADIUM 2," held at Goyang Stadium from Friday through Sunday. The album will be officially released on music streaming platforms at 6 p.m. Tuesday, following the concert.
