Team extends grand slam streak after sweeping major titles in 2024 and 2025

Coway's wheelchair basketball team, the Coway Blue Wheels, claimed their third consecutive championship at the 46th National Paralympic Sports Festival, completing a three-peat in the men's wheelchair basketball event.

Coway announced Thursday that the Blue Wheels won gold in the men's wheelchair basketball competition, held as a preliminary event at Halla Gymnasium in Jeju from Monday through Wednesday. Nine wheelchair basketball teams from across the country competed in the tournament.

Representing Seoul, the Blue Wheels defeated Incheon 77-30 in the quarterfinals and then beat Gyeonggi Province 81-46 in the semifinals to advance to the final.

Their opponent in the final on Wednesday was Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. The two teams were locked in a close contest through the second quarter, but the Blue Wheels pulled away in the second half to win 72-46.

"I give all the credit to the players, who fought to the very end to achieve the precious feat of three consecutive National Sports Festival titles," said Coway Blue Wheels Director Kim Yeong-mu. "We will continue to show what makes the Coway Blue Wheels special in the remaining wheelchair basketball league games this year."

Meanwhile, the Coway Blue Wheels, founded in 2022, are the only wheelchair basketball professional team in South Korea operated by a private company. The team swept all major domestic tournaments in both 2024 and 2025, achieving a grand slam in two consecutive years.
