Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho said the city aims to become "a public design city that creates better lives through public design that citizens can directly experience in their daily lives."

The city held the second interim briefing for its Second Anyang Public Design Promotion Plan, a framework for advancing and integrating public design management, officials announced Wednesday.

The briefing took place Tuesday in a fourth-floor conference room at city hall, with 23 participants including Urban Housing Bureau Director Lee Hee-seok, city civil servants, Anyang city Assembly members and design experts.

The public design promotion plan is a statutory document that sets the direction for urban design development and outlines key tasks over a five-year period. Following the first plan established in 2020, the city intends to finalize the second plan — covering 2026 to 2030 — before the end of this year.

The briefing presented a public design vision and goals reflecting the policy direction of the ninth elected administration, along with strategic tasks, a basic framework for priority projects including a public design pilot program, and agenda items proposed by residents.
