Hana Aerodynamics has passed the Korea Exchange's Kosdaq preliminary listing review and formally launched its initial public offering process.

The company has built a one-stop production capability spanning high-precision parts machining and structural and final assembly, underpinned by its proprietary aircraft tooling design and manufacturing technology. It has also established a stable order base through long-term supply chain partnerships with global aerospace firms, and plans to accelerate growth by expanding production infrastructure at the Jinju National Aerospace Industrial Complex.

Hana Aerodynamics, a precision manufacturer specializing in high-precision integrated aerospace solutions, said Wednesday it received approval from the Korea Exchange for its Kosdaq preliminary listing review and is now moving ahead with the IPO process.

Founded in 1990, the company has built expertise in high-precision aerospace parts machining and structural assembly using superalloy materials including aluminum and titanium. Drawing on its in-house tooling development and manufacturing capabilities, it provides a one-stop solution covering aircraft tooling design, precision machining and final helicopter fuselage assembly.

"Our proprietary tooling technology gives us a significant process advantage by sharply cutting development and production lead times," a company official said. "As a core Tier-1 supplier to global rotorcraft specialist Bell Textron, we are the only domestic company with a track record of complete Bell 412 final assembly and direct fuselage exports."

As a key partner of Korea Aerospace Industries, the company has also signed a contract to manufacture and supply the external boarding-assist jig (FWD/AFT) for the KF-21 supersonic fighter jet and has delivered initial quantities, broadening its order base across both defense and commercial segments.

Hana Aerodynamics has secured long-term supply chain agreements to improve order visibility. In April, it signed a 10-year strategic alliance and exclusive North American distribution agreement with global aerospace supply chain firm Spear Corporation, valid through 2036, entering the market as the sole manufacturer of precision components for space launch vehicles and satellites.

The company has also built a long-term partnership with global aerospace supply chain specialist Incora and diversified its customer base by adding overseas clients including Israel Aerospace Industries and Japan's Subaru.

The company has demonstrated a differentiated profit structure within the aerospace sector, continuously expanding its export share — most recently receiving the "7 Million Dollar Export Tower" award at the 62nd Trade Day ceremony. Its revenue mix is diversified across aircraft tooling at 39.52 percent, aircraft assembly at 37.41 percent and aircraft parts at 22.45 percent.

Proceeds from the listing will be directed toward building production infrastructure and investing in new equipment at the National Aerospace Industrial Complex in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province.

"This preliminary listing approval recognizes the competitiveness we have built through our proprietary precision machining and assembly technology and global partnerships," Chief Executive Son Chang-hwan said. "We will use the Kosdaq listing as a springboard to execute our production infrastructure investment at the Jinju national industrial complex without delay, and to emerge as a leader in high-precision integrated solutions spanning K-defense and global aerospace supply chains."

The Korea Exchange's Kosdaq Market Division announced Friday that it had approved the preliminary listing reviews of two companies — Davio and Hana Aerodynamics. The decisions were finalized following deliberation and a vote by the Kosdaq Market Listing Committee. Hana Aerodynamics, established in 2007, manufactures aircraft and spacecraft components. The company posted sales of 33.29 billion won ($24.3 million) and operating profit of 4.99 billion won last year. IBK Investment Securities is serving as the lead underwriter for the listing.
