Hanwha Total Energies said Tuesday it reduced air pollutant emissions last year by 13 percent from the previous year.

Greenhouse gas emissions last year also fell 9.8 percent from 2021 levels, while the company recorded zero serious industrial accidents, major regulatory violations and information security breaches. The figures were disclosed in the company's 2026 sustainability report.

This is the third sustainability report Hanwha Total Energies has published. It was prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards, the globally recognized sustainability reporting framework, and also incorporates GRI 11 and the SASB chemical industry standards to reflect the nature of the sector.

This year's report newly adds a double materiality assessment and a climate risk analysis, laying out the company's future direction and strategy. Through the double materiality assessment — which weighs both social and environmental impact alongside financial significance — Hanwha Total Energies identified three priority sustainability themes: climate change response, sustainable product development and circular economy realization, and compliance management.

Centered on those three themes, the company plans to strengthen its sustainability foundation by implementing its carbon reduction roadmap and transitioning to eco-friendly, low-carbon raw materials.

"We plan to further embed sustainability management across the entire organization and systematically carry out detailed initiatives around the three newly selected priority themes," a company official said. "We will continue to transparently disclose our sustainability performance and actively communicate with stakeholders."
