Both sites featured in 4th Basic Plan for Transfer Center Development (2026–2030)

Goyang Special City announced Monday that the Daegok Station complex transfer center and the Kintex Station transfer center have been included as continuing projects in the "4th Basic Plan for Transfer Center and Complex Transfer Center Development (2026–2030)," published Monday by the Metropolitan Area Wide-Area Transportation Commission under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The Daegok Station complex transfer center has been designated as the key transfer hub along the Goyang-Paju corridor within the Greater Seoul metropolitan transportation network. Daegok Station sits at the intersection of major rail lines — including GTX-A, the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, the West Coast Line and the Ilsan Line — and is expected to take on an expanded role as a wide-area transportation hub for northwestern Gyeonggi Province.

Goyang plans to build an integrated transfer system at Daegok Station connecting rail and bus services, linking the complex transfer center with the ongoing Daegok transit-oriented area knowledge-convergence complex development project. The city aims to develop the site into a wide-area transportation hub for northwestern Gyeonggi Province that combines transit access with self-sustaining urban functions.

The Kintex Station transfer center project, centered on the GTX-A Kintex Station, is designed to improve connections between rail and bus services. Included as a continuing project in the basic plan, the city said it will comprehensively review conditions for moving the project forward, taking into account projected GTX-A ridership demand and surrounding development conditions.

"The designation of Daegok Station as the key transfer hub along the Goyang-Paju corridor in the national plan signals that the station's role as the center of wide-area transportation in northwestern Gyeonggi Province has become even more important," Goyang Special City Mayor Min Kyung-sun said. "We will organically link the Daegok transit-oriented area development with the complex transfer center to strengthen its wide-area transportation hub function, and will closely examine the conditions for advancing the Kintex Station transfer center project to improve transfer convenience for residents."
